The 2008 Colorado Ballot

Colorado House of Representatives CD-7 Candidates

Summary

Ed Perlmutter is the incumbent and has been in Congress for 4 years. Ryan Frazier is on the Aurora City Council and won a somewhat contentious primary handily.

Ed's a middle of the road Democrat and Ryan is a very moderate Republican, so not a lot of distance between them - but the differences are real.

I do see one major plus for Ed. He is one of very few members of Congress who understands the financial industry well, and is not in their pocket. The financial reform bill was not sufficient to prevent another recession, Ed understands that, and he understands what can be done to prevent another financial recession.

Ryan Frazier [R]

Ryan is a very smart & thoughtful guy. He's also got an impressive background in the private sector as well as serving on the Aurora City Council. Ryan Frazier Interview.

If you think Ed has been doing a poor job, don't want more effective financial reform, and/or would rather have a Republican representing you, vote for Ryan. (Interesting story on Ryan Frazier's acceptance of stimulus funds.)

Ed Perlmutter [D]

Ed is also a very smart & thoughtful guy. He also has an impressive background in the private sector as well as serving in the state legislature before serving in Congress. Ed Perlmutter Interview.

If you think Ed has been doing a good job and/or you want to see more effective financial regulation passed, vote for Ed.
